Overlook Foundation hosted its second annual sporting clays event on Tuesday, August 30th at Hudson Farm Club, with dozens of shooters enjoying a picture-perfect day on 4,000 acres of landscaped farmland in rural Sussex County.
Since 1997, the club has offered its members one of the most attractive and challenging shooting layouts in the country. The club is also a leader in innovative conservation practices and operates the Hudson Farm Foundation which makes annual disbursements to local charities.
Drs. Ron Benitez and Yaron Moshel, of Atlantic NeuroSurgical Specialists, spoke to the crowd just prior to the cannon firing by longtime Overlook supporter Ed Reeves, signaling the start of the afternoon’s activities. Later at the awards dinner – held at the club’s Crow’s Nest pavilion – guests heard from Dr. Mo Feteiha, Overlook chair of surgery, as well as foundation trustee Karina Calzadilla, who recounted her family’s own experiences with Overlook’s outstanding surgical team.
Prizes were awarded to the first-place squad (Joseph Chiarello, Stephen Chiarello, Joe Mignon, and Christopher Pesce); top-scoring individual, Dr. Ron Benitez; and leading conservationist, Lauren Charlton.
Proceeds from the event are supporting Surgical Services at Overlook Medical Center.
