More than 60 physicians and their spouses gathered recently at the Watchung home of Drs. Ashish Khot and Rasha Batarseh to enjoy Flavor Adventures from Around the World in celebration of their generous support of the $176 million OverLook Ahead campaign to fund sweeping upgrades to Overlook Medical Center.
“As physicians, we’re particularly excited about the impact this will have on our top priorities – our patients and our community,” says Dr. Khot, a medical oncologist with Advanced Care Oncology and Hematology Associates (ACOHA). “After more than a century of providing world-class medical care, Overlook will, over the next several years, be transformed into a true hospital of the future.”
Designated by Healthgrades as one of the nation’s top 50 hospitals for clinical excellence, Overlook is home to some of the region’s most well-respected physicians, offering the most advanced technology and treatments.
To date, more than 1,800 donors have stepped up to help fund major construction and renovation projects involving some 90 percent of Overlook’s patient care spaces . . . including new medical infrastructure in every room, triple the number of private rooms, several brand-new units, and additional operating rooms.
“It was important to us, as a physician group, to lead the way in support of Overlook’s vision,” explains Kishore Ballal, chief executive officer at ACOHA, who sponsored the event. “We’re honored to be part of such a critical time in the hospital’s evolution that will benefit patients and their families for years to come.”
