It was an evening of wonder and celebration that netted some $370,000 for the Gerald J. Glasser Brain Tumor Center at Overlook. A sellout crowd of more than 200 guests enjoyed a night of fine dining and dancing in the rustic chic Coach House at the Ryland Inn, capped off by a magic show featuring a few lucky members of the audience.
The September 22 event brought together foundation donors – including trustees, physicians, and corporate sponsors – in support of a program that cares for more than 1,000 patients each year in its new home at Overlook.
Dr. Yaron Moshel, co-director of the center, spoke about the groundbreaking work that he and his team do on behalf of patients and their families . . . before introducing Erik Sletteland, whose son was one of those patients. Later in the program, Manish Bhandari and his wife Radhika spoke movingly about his own experience as a patient of Dr. Ron Benitez, to whom he presented the foundation’s 2018 Medical Marvel Award.
