On June 12, approximately 160 golfers were met with high temperatures, sunny skies, and pristine fairways of Canoe Brook Country Club at the 27th Annual Overlook Foundation Golf Tournament. The golf tournament raised more than $110,000 for the Gerald J. Glasser Brain Tumor Center, with many thanks to long-time tournament sponsor, Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Golfers warmed up on the driving range, stretched with Overlook physical therapists, and enjoyed a gorgeous buffet lunch before teeing off. Both of Canoe Brook’s renowned championship courses were open exclusively to our golfers, where they had several opportunities to win a luxury automobile or take home some cash prizes. After a hot day on the course, attendees were welcomed back to the beautifully renovated clubhouse for cocktails, dinner and exciting silent and live auctions. The heart of the program came from a brief update on the Gerald J. Glasser Brain Tumor Center at Overlook Medical Center from Dr. Kurt Jaeckle and Dr. Yaron Moshel, co-directors of the Center.
As always, golf prizes were a highlight of the dinner, rewarding lowest net scores, longest drives, and closest to the pin. Top-finishing foursomes on the North and South courses respectively were: Dan Scobell, Trevor Jones, Pat Zinno, and Dan Systma; and James Keale, Thomas Robertson, Russell Ball, Harry McEnroe. The grand prize, the Anthony F. Coppola, MD Memorial Award, was presented to Jake Stefani for the lowest individual gross score.
The golf tournament wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of all our donors, sponsors, golfers, and volunteers. We appreciate your time, energy, and passion. Thank you again and make sure to view the photos on Facebook!
