About 50 community residents gathered for lunch at MONDO on Wednesday, April 29th for an informative presentation and discussion by Meghan Feehan, PsyD, coordinator of the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Program.
Attendees at the event got a glimpse of what a family goes through when one of its members is afflicted with this disease as they listened to a parent and former patient of the program.
Those at the event were able to ask questions about the program and the daily struggles a family deals with when they have a child or children with an eating disorder.
The following evening on April 30th, the Foundation hosted a wine tasting at Trump National Golf Course. Dr. Leslie Sanders, medical director of the Child and Adolescent Program spoke to the crowd and answered questions about the program and its needs. Those who attended also saw a glimpse inside the life of a family as the parent of a former patient discussed their experiences and the affect this disease had on their child and the family.
Donations raised from these events have so far totaled over $17,000 for the Eating Disorders Program. Yet there is still work to be done. We are just $263,000 away from our campaign goal of $1.8 million. To help us reach the finish line, please click here to make a donation. This is a program that cannot exist without community support so every donation is extremely important!
