More than 200 golfers came early to hit some balls at the driving range and do some pre-round stretching with Overlook physical therapists before settling in for a buffet lunch on the club’s veranda. Then it was on to one of Canoe Brook’s two renowned championship courses, where several luxury automobiles awaited any lucky golfer who managed to sink a hole-in-one. That evening, at the awards dinner, attendees bid on a number of tempting silent auction packages that included vacations and rounds of golf at some of the area’s most prestigious courses.
A generous lineup of golf prizes was awarded to the top 20 foursomes with the lowest net scores, as well as individuals with the longest drive and closest to the pin. Top-finishing foursomes on the North and South courses respectively were: Chuck DeRosa, Joe Tompkins, Steve Lynch, and Manuel Alers; and John Moran, Rob Nick, Jared Shaw, and Sam Zalowitz. In addition, the Anthony F. Coppola, MD Memorial Award was presented to Dylan Silversey for the lowest individual gross score.
